Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Jesus is alive! Jesus is right now in the very presence of the Father actively engaged in prayer for you and me. He takes no vacation. He holds no grudge. He is not a respecter of persons. Everyone who calls on His name will be saved! In the face of our selfishness and dishonesty and lusts and sloth, the second He sees the tear of repentance on our heart, He jumps into the midst of it all without fear or vengeance to wash the faintest stain away with His own priceless blood still flowing from the spear thrust of our rebellion, using hands impaled with our rusty nails, standing on feet pierced with our cruel spike. But there is no guile in Him. There is no hesitation to His love. He mercifully seals us with the Holy Spirit and stands guard over our frail soul gracing us with His joy and His love in our hearts. Oh, may all who know His dear voice bless Him with their affection, thrill Him with their obedience, honor Him with their trust!

Our "Day of Prayer for Long-term Care" on October 23rd was a time of wonderful fellowship with the Master. A small band of prayer warriors gathered, but the room was filled with the sweet presence of the Ultimate Caregiver. We shared our time in intercession on behalf of the residents of long-term care settings in Hampton Roads, throughout the States and all over the world. We also prayed for the staff of the facilities, for family members of residents, for the home-bound and their caregivers, for LTC volunteers and for Christian ministers in this mission field. We prayed by name for several ministries that are dedicated to nursing home ministry. Our numbers were small, but the leading and the presence of our Lord Jesus, the Lord of the Harvest, was manifestly present as we responded from our hearts in intercession for the burdens of this mission field. We thank those of you who couldn't be there in body but were with us in your prayers. Your love and prayers are a great blessing to us, as well as those to whom we minister. We know that you carry them on your hearts as we do. The need is great and growing for Christian volunteers and we are honored to be able to minister in this field. Thank you for your part in making it possible. We have begun sending out our Christian Christmas Carol booklet and accompanying CD again. If you or anyone you know would like some of them, please let us know.

On a personal note, Dar was hospitalized for a few days for tests and all is well, praise God! We found out that her heart is in excellent condition and expect God's continuing grace and mercy upon both of us, as Jerry had a great checkup at his cardiologist's office, too. We'd love to hear from some of you that we don't see regularly. Please give us a call or e-mail us any time and let us know what's going on in your life and how we can pray for you.

Also, if you are in the Hampton Roads area and attend a church that does not currently have a care center ministry, please let your pastor know we are available to help. We offer free materials, and the benefit of our experience over the past 20 years. For a group of seven or more who may be interested in serving in this mission field, we can provide flexible training classes tailored specifically to your church folk and the type of facility they desire to minister in. Nursing home ministry is not rocket science, but there are pitfalls you can avoid and information you can benefit from that is not readily available anywhere else. We would be honored to serve you. Just let us know.

We remind you of the indigenous ministry of Peter Onyango in Orucho, Kenya: he carries a heavy burden in supporting and caring for elderly widows in his village. We can help Peter minister to them. He needs funds to provide mosquito netting, firewood, food, medication and water. Those of us here in the U. S. who know of his labor for the Lord are the major source of his support. A "little bit" to us goes a long way to Peter! Please prayerfully consider what the Lord would want you to do toward helping us help Peter! See our website for pictures and more info. Send your donations to:

As we said last month, WDA will handle the transfer of funds to Africa and send you a receipt for your contribution if you send it directly to them. Because he is overseas, they retain a reduced rate of only 4% of the donations for Peter to cover these expenses (a very reasonable amount in our opinion). If you have questions, you are welcome to call us at (757)714-3133. On Peter's behalf we thank you for your consideration.

Love in Christ,

Prayer Requests
We invite you to join with us in our appeal to the Master of the Universe to aid us this year in the following areas:

We ask God Almighty to bless this work with a mighty and effective proclamation of the Good News of Jesus Christ to the lost...and to confirm His Word with miracles, signs and wonders.

We humbly pray to God the Father for an anointed, solid Word of encouragement to His dear children who are struggling in their faith and their hope in the Eternal Promises of Christ.

We cry out to our Loving Savior for a fresh endowment of His compassion for the hurting, the forgotten, the struggling in long-term-care settings all over the world.

We appeal to God for His empowerment and His favor in calling together His soldiers in long-term-care volunteerism in our region and in our nation.

We pray that God give us a reliable means of extending a helping hand to fellow long-term-care laborers throughout the Earth, and especially in third world countries.

We call on the Great Creative Writer to guide us and inspire us as we pursue production of the seventh edition of "A Handbook for Long-Term Care Ministry."

We ask the Perfect Teacher to lead us to realize our efforts to put the true-inductive, true-seminar-style Bible study, "Chapter & Verse," on the world-wide web for the edification and the unity of the Body of Christ all over this planet.

In obedience and submission to Your leading in this, Your ministry, we lay these petitions before You, Father and yield to Your wisdom, Your timing and the proportion of Your provision - for Your Eternal Glory - in the wonderful, precious Name of Your Dear Son, Jesus Christ.
