Dear Friends,

Greetings! We trust this note finds you somewhere cool and comfortable in the middle of this season of heat, humidity and thundershowers. How different life would be if there were no changes in weather, in time, in health, in life. Just think of all the adjustments we have had to make in our lifetime to all the constant variations in our environment, in our physical growth patterns, in our emotional and mental abilities, in our physical health, in our relationships, in our economic conditions, in our governmental and political leadership, in science and technology, etc. This list goes on and on, does it not? It makes our head spin to think of all the numberless accommodations we have been forced to make as we seek to respond properly as good children, good students, good husbands and wives, good parents, good citizens, good neighbors, and (drum roll) good children of God!

Our relationship with God, taken as seriously as the Bible teaches us it should be, brings on constant change as we mature in our walk with our Creator.

"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." 2Cor 3:18

What a bold statement! What a wonderful, awesome, mystifying thought: that as believers in Jesus Christ we are being changed to look like Him, to be like Him. We are changing as His Holy Spirit works in our minds and hearts. We are changing as His Holy Spirit takes us through circumstances and relationships, some difficult and some easy. As hard to grasp as it may be, it appears that the key to all this miraculous change in us is quite simple: LOOK AT THE GLORIOUS JESUS! With the spiritual eyes we have been given, look at His kindness toward us. Look at His mercy in our life. Look at His love for others around us. Look at His patience with us in the light of our shortcomings (to put it politely). Look at His unfailing forgiveness every time we confess our sins to Him. Look at how He has brought us this far in our faith, as weak and paltry as we may sometimes feel. Look at Him on that tree on Calvary, hopelessly nailed, naked and beaten, hanging by the public road, being jeered and mocked by His executioners and accusers...look through our glass and see ourselves standing there in the ugly crowd and listen to Him say, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do!!!” .

"...and looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold, the Lamb of God!" John 1:36

Look through YOUR GLASS at Jesus. Behold His glory. Behold His beauty. Behold His faithfulness. Behold His majesty. And there, may we let Him hold our gaze. May we abide in Him, the object and the source of our faith, our hope and our love, strengthened by His tender mercy and His care.

In all we do in the ministry of Christian Concourse, in our prayers, our preaching, our publications, we place before the Lord our supplication that He use us to be a catalyst for others to fix their eyes on the glory of Jesus; that we be a blessing of Christian encouragement and Christ-centered hope to all we meet and to all who use our materials. We count this work to be a great privilege and we thank each of you for your part in helping us forge ahead. May He bless you for your sacrifice and your love.

"...looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith." Heb 12:2

In the Love of Christ,
