Dear Brothers and Sisters:

As you may remember from our last letter, we were in Lynchburg, Virginia last week to distribute our nursing home ministry materials at a conference on aging presented by Lynchburg College. In one day we gave out 1275 Favorite Hymns of Grace and 60 sets of CDs. It is a great delight to see faces light up when people understand that we offer these materials at no cost because we are asking them to help us to freely put them in the hands of long-term care residents. As we are printing and assembling and burning and labeling, we are careful to pray often that the Lord Jesus will use each of these tools for the furtherance of His Kingdom in the hearts of the elderly and infirm. We are honored and humbled to count many thousands of nursing home residents all over the world who have been blessed by these humble instruments of the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. By the kind generosity of our supporters, we are grateful to be able to say that all of our expenses for the trip and the costs for the materials are covered. Thank you. Praise the Lord!

We do not mention often enough the activities staff of care facilities. For many years we have worked under the guidance of activity directors in numerous facilities in the Hampton Roads area. On many occasions we have seen first-hand the sacrificial labor of love and the dedication to the needs of others that activity directors and activity assistants bring to work every day, year after year. In our 20+ years of participation with Hampton Roads Activity Professionals Association we have been given the privilege to get to know personally their vivacious, energetic enthusiasm for the job of helping the elderly and the infirm. If you volunteer in a nursing home, it would be great if sometime you might thank the staff members for choosing to give of themselves as professionals in a very trying field of employment.

Thanking God for the opportunity, we continue to support the indigenous ministry of Peter Onyango in Kenya: he carries a heavy burden in caring for elderly widows in his village. We can help Peter minister to them. In many cases, they have no means of support except what Brother Onyango is able to provide. We are a continent and an ocean away from their poverty and it is easy to forget how poor they really are. Simple necessities like mosquito netting, fire wood, food and medicine are in great need year round. Please prayerfully consider what the Lord would want you to do toward helping us help Peter! See our website for pictures and more info. Make your check out to "Worldwide Discipleship Association" and note the designation, "Peter Onyango – elderly." Send your donations to:

Worldwide Discipleship Association
Peter Onyango's Account - “elderly”

WDA will handle the transfer of funds to Africa and mail you a receipt for your contribution if you send it directly to them. They retain a reduced rate of only 4% of the donations for Peter to cover their expenses (a very reasonable amount in our opinion). If you have questions, you are welcome to call us at (757)714-3133. On Peter's behalf we thank you for your consideration.

Thank each of you again for your friendship and your kind assistance and prayers – God answers prayer!

Love in Christ,

Jerry and Dar
